Position Overview
The Climate Policy Lab (CPL) at CIERP, The Fletcher School, Tufts University, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The successful candidate will:
- Pursue an active research agenda
- Contribute to CPL’s ongoing projects
- Provide expertise in China, Latin America, or system dynamics modeling approaches to climate policy
This is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal based on performance, funding, and mutual agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research

Work closely with:
- Professor Easwaran Narassimhan (Co-Director)
- Dean Kelly Sims Gallagher (Co-Director)
- Professor Travis Franck (Climate Modeling & Policy Director)
- CPL research team members
- Participate in team meetings and seminars
- Present at least once in the research seminar series
- Support organization of workshops and roundtables
- Represent CPL at conferences, public events, and policy engagements
- Contribute to partnerships with funders and research institutions
- Produce at least two publishable academic papers annually
- Write blog posts and policy briefs
- Support public dissemination of research
Work Environment
- Shared office space provided
- Regular in-office presence expected
- Collaboration with the broader Fletcher and Tufts research community encouraged
Research Focus Areas
CPL is particularly interested in candidates working on:

- Climate policy design, implementation, and measurement

- Climate finance and global investment flows

Basic Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field (completed within the last five years)
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong research and publication record
- Experience with complex data analysis and advanced methodologies
- Background in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to translate research for broader audiences (blogs, op-eds, policy briefs)
- Commitment to collaboration and continuous learning
