Why This Anthology Matters

The Ecofem Tales 2025 Anthology: Voices from the Earth is collection of writings and a growing archive of resistance, remembrance, and renewal. At a time when climate crises disproportionately impacts women, especially those in rural, riverine, and Indigenous communities, we believe their stories must be heard, shared, and celebrated.

Who This Is For

We are especially eager to receive submissions from:

  • Rural and riverine women

  • Indigenous storytellers

  • Women of colour

  • Young writers and elders

  • Activists, farmers, fisherwomen, caregivers

  • Emerging and unpublished writers

You don’t need to be a professional writer. If the Earth has shaped your voice, your words belong here.

Inspiration for Writers

If you are not sure where to begin? Consider writing about:

  • A moment the river saved or changed you

  • A ritual or tradition passed down through women

  • Your body as earth, your land as memory

  • What you would say if the forest could listen

  • A story your grandmother told you about seasons, storms, or seeds

Editorial Values

We welcome both lyrical and raw, gentle and fierce writings. We believe in storytelling that is personal, political, grounded in place, and rooted in truth. We respect the dignity of lived experience and the power of ancestral and ecological memory.

What Happens After Submission?

  • All submissions will be reviewed by a diverse editorial team
  • Selected writers will be notified by October 6, 2025
  • The digital anthology will launch on November 10, 2025
